About

Ok, I am finally doing it!

My blog is up and running! Yea!

Now, as to why I am even blogging in the first place. Here is the long version that I know you are just dying to hear:

I actually began a blog over a year ago, but unfortunately I let life take over and I didn’t post or write as much as I wanted to/should have. Since I am relatively new to the blogging world, I will share a little about why this happened.

First of all, I work full time. I love my job seeing that I get to teach the love of reading and writing to 8th graders, but it leaves little time to write during the day. Although, I am not sure how productive I would be staying at home all day either. I think I may be ADD, but that’s a totally separate thing.

Secondly, I have two kids of my own (three if you count my husband; which I do).

Thirdly, I am a dancer. I go to the studio three times a week to dance. My daughter also dances, so I take to her classes also. It is very difficult to write while sitting in a crowded studio lobby, besides the fact that I am a talker and get sucked into conversations with moms and other dancers. We won’t even talk about how busy we are when baseball season commences!

My last of many excuses reasons is simple.  I spend all of my time working or at home with my family. I take little time for myself. This is changing. I have decided that I won’t put aside my passions for reading and writing anymore. I will set aside a little time each day to do what I love. This won’t impact my kids too much, seeing that my oldest really doesn’t want to spend time with “the mom” anymore. Playstation 3 is way more important! Rather than feeling guilty about taking time at my desk with my computer by myself, I am going to embrace it. I will feed my soul with the arts and be a better mom and wife for it.

Now comes the fun part. My goal is to post at least once a week about a book(s) I have read. I will only be posting here about YA novels. Some will be the latest release and/or ARCS I have received and some posts will focus on older YA novels. And just so you all know, I ONLY read books that I am interested in. I will not, in any way, shape or form be forced into reading a book.
